Full Job Description

Coding outpatient medical and behavioral health medical records.

Reconciling insurance claim denials in a timely manner.

Identifies carrier related denial trends and payment problems that need to be reported to the Finance/ QM Department.

Creates and submits accurate spreadsheets of outstanding accounts receivable to assigned payors and pursues balances owed.

The ideal candidate should have at least 3-5 years of medical billing experience preferably in mental health.

Strong computer skills including MS Excel and proficiency working with spreadsheets.

Great organizational and communication skills.

Self-motivated individual who can work independently with minimal direction.

Experience working with EMR systems.

Problem solving skills and ability to deal effectively and efficiently with a high volume of denied or incorrectly paid claims.

Knowledgeable in invoicing, deductibles, and copays.

Understanding of patient eligibility.

Experience working with Medicaid, Medicare, and all commercial insurances.

Knowledge of medical terminology
