Full Job Description

  • Coding outpatient medical and behavioral health medical records.

  • Reconciling insurance claim denials in a timely manner.

  • Identifies carrier related denial trends and payment problems that need to be reported to the Finance/ QM Department.

  • Creates and submits accurate spreadsheets of outstanding accounts receivable to assigned payors and pursues balances owed.

  • The ideal candidate should have at least 3-5 years of medical billing experience preferably in mental health.

  • Strong computer skills including MS Excel and proficiency working with spreadsheets.

  • Great organizational and communication skills.

  • Self-motivated individual who can work independently with minimal direction.

  • Experience working with EMR systems.

  • Problem solving skills and ability to deal effectively and efficiently with a high volume of denied or incorrectly paid claims.

  • Knowledgeable in invoicing, deductibles, and copays.

  • Understanding of patient eligibility.

  • Experience working with Medicaid, Medicare, and all commercial insurances.

  • Knowledge of medical terminology
